StorageCraft is looking for a Corporate Blogger & Public Relations (PR) Manager that will be responsible for coordinating a variety of communications-related tactics. From the development of blog posts and press releases to managing social media channels, securing industry awards and speaking opportunities, this person will be a relationship builder, writer and proofreader who will contribute to StorageCraft's marketing success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Maintain the StorageCraft blog through original pieces as well as uploading contributed articles from our freelancers as "editor-in-chief"
  • Discover new topics and create content in collaboration with subject-matter experts across the company from various departments
  • Implement PR tactics in accordance with the MarCom strategy and in coordination with the rest of the marketing team
  • Coordinate promotional activities, special events and public relations activities
  • Work in conjunction with marketing/product marketing/product management to ensure timely delivery of tactics.
  • Assist with drafting and pitching stories to press contacts in mainstream media, community outlets and industry journals.
  • Own the submissions of speaking opportunities and awards to relevant outlets
  • Keep informed of latest trends in data backup/recovery related to SMBs and mid-size enterprise businesses.
  • Help implement the social media strategy, coordinate with stakeholders across the company to ensure effectiveness and encourage adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company's services
  • As required, help manage and drive social media campaigns and manage presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, StorageCraft Blog, LinkedIn and other similar community sites (e.g. Spiceworks)
  • Be an advocate of StorageCraft in social media spaces, engage in dialogues and answer questions where appropriate.
  • Manage a Blogger outreach program and build an active brand ambassador network to spread the word about StorageCraft.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  • Coach and mentor StorageCraft employees on effective use of social media to drive results.
  • Build relationships and conduct outreach with key influencers (internal and external to StorageCraft) to engage them in actively promoting the company's brand.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion

Education and/or Experience 

  • BA/BS in Communications or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3  years of work experience in social media and/or public relations

Other knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AP style.
  • Familiar with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to evaluate new and evolving blog technologies.
  • Solid understanding of all sections related to the anatomy of a blog.
  • Ability to utilize reporting tools for analysis of traffic, referral links and reader demographics.
  • Ability to use syndication and pinging tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current editing, authoring tools, and related blog technologies.
  • Solid foundation in search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.
  • Strategic/creative thinker, detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Highly motivated, works well individually and on a team.
  • Understanding of data backup/recovery/data security/data analytics industry a bonus.
