Role and Responsibilities

The Content Marketing Specialist relentlessly tracks marketing content from the earliest concepts to publication and promotion. The ideal candidate is a measurement monster with outrageous organizational skills who also happens to thrive in a creative environment. You'll be part of a busy, multi-disciplinary marketing and communication team on a mission to make StorageCraft the most recognized and respected brand in the backup and disaster recovery market.

Routine Job Duties:

  • Prepare blog posts for publication in WordPress (editing, formatting, metadata).
  • Research industry and competitive topics for content development projects.
  • Perform keyword research and light on-page optimization for SEO purposes.
  • Monitor company social networks and forums and assist with regular posting strategy.
  • Provide final proofreading and QA for blog articles and marketing collateral prior to publication.
  • Write preliminary copy for emails, info-graphics, event handouts and blog articles.
  • Compile statistics and research from sources like Gartner and Forrester.
  • Maintain and distribute content marketing editorial calendar.
  • Manage production traffic on content pieces created by internal and external contributors.
  • Coordinate semi-monthly blog newsletter.
  • Edit and distribute weekly creative and coordination meeting notes to marketing team.
  • Assist content marketing team with various scheduling and data entry tasks.
  • Assist other marketing work groups (PR, web, design, events, product marketing) as directed to expedite major content marketing projects.

Desired Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with WordPress.  Drupal experience preferred.
  • Entry level to intermediate experience with Google Analytics.
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with B2B channel marketing, especially in the SaaS market preferred.
  • A combination of 2-3 years software industry, marketing agency, or corporate marketing experience preferred.  Direct experience with backup and disaster recovery software a plus.
  • A combination of 2-3 years of public sector, finance, or healthcare market experience preferred.
  • Light copywriting or blogging experience preferred.
  • Audio or video production experience - particularly editing - a plus.
  • Writing samples – online portfolio.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, marketing, communications, or a related field required.

Success Metrics

  • Excellence in research and writing.
  • Online analytics tracking to measure marketing content performance.
