Seeking a Lead QA engineer to join our engineering test team in Draper, UT.  The position requires an engineer with extensive software test experience who is familiar with TDD (Test Driven Development) in an Agile development environment.   Successful candidates will be experienced in creating and executing test plans, creating test strategy, and developing test automation.

The essential responsibilities are to conduct thorough product testing using automation tools and techniques and to ensure quality standards are maintained in order to provide the highest quality software products.  The test engineers will evaluate and test new or modified software to determine that the software meets user requirements and established quality standards using both manual and automated testing techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the test execution for all existing and future product development.
  • Participate in all phases of our agile software development life cycle, including developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automation.
  • Analyze test cases and functional specifications to determine the best approach for test automation implementation and execution.
  • Mentor team members in software testing best practices and ensure that the team delivers high quality software.
  • Document software issues and enhancement requests and assist development with concise and detailed steps for duplication of the problem.
  • Verify resolved Change Requests and maintain accurate status for Change Requests entered in each project.
  • Ensure all software products meet the highest quality possible by following industry recognized Q/A methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications Needed

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or other technical field.
  • A minimum of 5+ year's experience in software test or development.
  • Automation expertise with one or more scripting languages (Python, Perl, Java, Bash, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, QA terminology and processes.
  • Experience with Linux, Windows and Virtual (VMWare, Hyper V, etc.) environments.
  • An understanding of storage concepts.
  • Experience with test case management tools such as TestRail, QC, TestLink or Spira.
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases such as Mysql, Oracle, and MS SQL.
  • Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira, Rally or Bugzilla.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, methodical and creative thinker with passion for quality.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with continuous integration frameworks (Bamboo/Jenkins).
  • Test automation experience with pytest or Selenium Webdriver.
  • Familiarity with I/O generation tools such as fio, ioMeter or Medusa.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or other public cloud providers.
  • Experience with setting up and managing monitoring tools (Nagios, Grafana).
  • Basic system administration skills and hardware experience.
