StorageCraft is looking for an experienced software engineer in test to join our engineering team in Draper, UT.  The position requires an engineer with extensive software automation development experience who is familiar with TDD (Test Driven Development) in an Agile development environment.   Successful candidates will be experienced in designing and developing automation for a continuous integration environment.

The essential responsibilities are to conduct thorough product testing using automation tools and techniques and ensure agreed upon quality standards are maintained.  This position will focus on performance, scalability and interoperability testing of our products.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of our agile software development life cycle, including developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automation.
  • Analyze test cases and functional specifications to determine best approach for automating scripts.
  • Ensure all hardware and software products meet the highest quality possible by following industry recognized Q/A methodologies and best practices.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or other technical field.
  • Automation expertise with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl, Java, Bash, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, QA terminology and processes.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environments.
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases such as Mysql, Oracle, and MS SQL.
  • Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira, Rally or Bugzilla.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, methodical and creative thinker with passion for quality.

PREFERRED SKILLS 

  • Python expertise.
  • Storage testing experience.
  • Experience with continuous integration frameworks (Jenkins/Hudson).
  • Specific experience with performance, scalability or interoperability testing of a storage or backup appliance product.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software solutions.
  • Experience with Agile SCRUM based software development and test.
  • Virtualization experience (VMWare, Hyper-V).
  • Basic system administration skills and hardware experience.
